During my first bout of chemotherapy I gained weight. I hadn't been watching what I ate, not realizing that I was jump-starting my body into menopause and it would be that much harder to lose weight afterwards. This is why it is so important for me to stay on a healthy path now as my chances of cancer reoccurring is higher if I am overweight. I've already had a second cancer diagnosis and can't afford to have another occurrence at my young age; I just turned 40.
It's still a challenge for me as weight comes off so slow, so I try to keep Ellie's book around and review it from time to time. I think Ellie's program helped with emotional things too, because there wasn't a lot of pressure. I didn't feel like I needed to drop 50 pounds to be successful, and her little tips have helped me maintain my weight loss. Presently I have tried to get back on track and lose some more weight. It is still a journey and probably always will be, but at least I'm not alone in it
Want to feel full, fast? Eating intuitively — listening to your body — is the best form of portion control. Try eating slower and tasting each individual bite. You'll probably find that not only are you eating less, but you're enjoying your food more!
